Just a tiny flash of light between now and then.
I've had a bit of Rome. Too many tourists in the touristy areas, not so many in the places where real people live real lives. Here's what I think of the city: it's beautiful like a stuffed owl. Ancient and majestic, but creepy and dead all the same. I cannot sense any life-filling energy. Where there's death, there shall be life. This place cannot give me the spirit to stay alive.
If you took Rome’s history away, it would be nothing.
If you took Germany’s history away, it would thank you forever.
I'm with my friend C. He's the same and different at the same time. It's good to see him. He's the reason I'm here. And good ol' Nick, who's going to fill us with his preaching pretty soon. But this city needs to do without me. It's not for me. I need something alive to keep me going.
